Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On October 21, 2016, she released Pho, her first EP for the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 Five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued to upload her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on July 21st. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team later in the year as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate with her on some references. On December 8 it was announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she recorded with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in 2018 on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it came out on the 5th. The second single she released was, Grampa on November 9. Two singles more were released by her on November 13, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on November 16. The track was accompanied by an accompanying music video that debuted on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube within the first week. In December 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
